In this section we offer suggestions, on how to collect, prepare, and analyze media data. We also give a brief overview over the methodolgies in media research we are evaluating (currently discourse analysis and frame analysis).

Notes on the usage of these pages

When selecting our references for the different methodologies, we used three selection criteria:

  1. perceived importance, i.e., how often is a work (or research tool) cited in the recent literature;
  2. methodological depth, i.e., how we judge the importance of a document;
  3. accessibility, i.e., if a document is available on the internet.
