Technical Specification



If you are having any technical problems and require advice please contact a member of your university technical staff before downloading any software or altering your computers settings. These materials have been designed and tested using Internet Explorer 6.0 and Firefox 1.0.7 on a standard Windows PC and look best viewed at a resolution of 800x600 or greater.

Please note that older browsers and alternative operating systems may only have limited support for some of the technologies used to build this course, ensure that the browser that you are using is up to date.

Browser settings

In order to get the most out of these materials you should ensure that the browser you are using is set to allow the following:

  • Enable JavaScript - this is used in the pop-up windows and self assessment questions
  • Show Images - some browsers have pop-up blockers built in; you will need to set your browser to allow pop-ups during your online learning session

Additional software

Students using these course materials can download or view PDF and MSWord documents for their own use. In order to view and use these, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader and Microsoft Word installed on your computer.

Accessibility

These web materials have been prepared in line with current (2006) good accessibility practice wherever possible. A number of accessibility features have been built into the design of these materials:
