[30/06-03/07/2008] The 3rd Research Methods Festival, St Catherine's College
Oxford: The Geo-Refer project team presented in the 2008 Research Methods Festival organised by ESRC
National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM). The project team gave a talk on how the Geo-Refer resources
are structured and how users can profile their own research needs using the customised geo-referencing

[28/05/2008] Geographical Referencing and Census Data Workshop, Bristol: Geo-Refer and GeoConvert, both funded by ESRC,
jointed force together to deliver the Geo-referencing and Census Data workshop. The workshop covered
principles and practice for understanding and linking a wide range of datasets with a particular focus

[21/11/2007] Geo-Refer Workshop 3: The third Geographical Referencing for Social Scientists workshop was
successfully held on Wednesday 21th November 2007 at the Main Library of the University of Edinburgh.

[30/05/2007] Geo-Refer Workshop 2: A dozen social sciences researchers attended the second Geo-Refer
workshop held in Manchester. Delegates were encouraged to create their own personalised geo-referencing
tutorial using the online user profile form. The GeoConvert tool which is
currently developed by colleagues at Mimas was also introduced to the delegates. To see the full

[06/02/2007] The Geo-Refer project was represented at the recent ESRC's Researcher Development
Initiative "Developing the Researcher" conference on 06 February 2007. Click here to download the presentation for

[23/11/2006] Geo-Refer Workshop 1: About 20 social scientists and data managers attended the first
Geo-Refer workshop "An introduction to geographical referencing for social scientists" at Southampton
Statistical Sciences Research Institute, University of Southampton. If you would like to see the

[01/02/2006] The Geo-Refer project officially commenced on 1 February 2006, but the project was also
represented at the launch of ESRC's Researcher Development Initiative on 9 November 2005. Our
