1. Make sure you have SPSS version 12 or later with the complex surveys licensed on your system

2. The survey commands are in the analysis menu. at the bottom you should find the complex surveys option. Before you analyse them your need to set up an analysis plan file.
3. Click on the survey command 'prepare for analysis At the first step you are prompted as to where you want to save your plan file with survey details. Choose any suitable place to store it. The next stage gives you a dialogue box where you should put in the identifiers for strata, clusters and weights. FOR CORRECT DESIGN EFFECTS THE WEIGHTS SHOULD BE GROSSING UP WEIGHTS . For this exemplar you will need weights (you need to calculate the new variable GWEIGHT -(see syntax) and strata (STRATA). At the next step you should select simple random sampling initially with and for the last analyses without replacement.
4. Once your plan is set up you can run the other survey commands from their menus .
6. You can also run our prepared code ex4.sps from a syntax window. But you will need to change the name of the plan files to the file names where you want to save your own plan file.
HINTS:-
i) To see more decimal places in your output, right click on the
output and go to > SPSS pivot table >edit. Then right click on a cell in
your table and go to cell properties to change the decimal places.
