Wald statistic

The Wald statistic is used to test whether or not a regression coefficient for an explanatory variable in a Logistic regression is significantly different from zero. That is whether or not the explanatory variable is making any substantial contribution towards predicting the outcome. The Wald statistic has a chi-square distribution and values with p < .05 are usually considered statistically significant.
