In identifying a dissemination strategy, it is useful to consider how Intellectual Property is distributed.

• Is permission needed to use research material? If so, this should be identified and addressed by talking to central research services prior to an application or signing a contract.
• Are there any IP issues that may affect your ability to publish? If so, will there by a delay?
• Are there any restrictions of using the research in further work and/or teaching?

Each institution will have its own Intellectual Property regulations and guidelines.
