Disciplinary Difference
[c]
Face-to-face, regular, minuted meetings are even more important when working across disciplines. Researchers may need more guidance and monitoring when working in an interdisciplinary setting since there is a need to develop a shared understanding and a shared language about what it is you are trying to do. There will be a variety of practices, and differences in assumptions about best practice, which need to be resolved. Without regular, face-to-face meetings, you run the risk of becoming compartmentalised with a limited sense of the wider, holistic picture. |
