Interview
1 Schedule
In order to gain insight into young
people’s perceptions of their own process of moral development, we
employed a biographical approach which involved asking them to recall
their earliest memories of good and bad and the key people, places and
events of their moral development, reflecting on leadership, moral
authority and difference in relation to others. Interviews took on
average one hour and were recorded on audio cassette tapes. Issues of
consent, confidentiality and anonymity were reconfirmed at the start
and end of the interview. Data included the audio tapes and
transcriptions of interviews (N=57), together with researchers’ field
notes.
