Heather has always been small in size and looked quite young which perhaps contributed to a sense of low self-esteem in her earlier interviews. She comes from a middle class family and has a twin sister. Their relationship went up and down, but although they were different in style and values, and left school to study in different part of the country, they always remained in close contact. Heather rejected the designer style of her peers at school and chose a more alternative style of dress, and always felt a bit different. She went on to enjoy a full social life at college with the other young women with whom she shared a house.  Despite being unconventional in certain ways, she was on the lookout for Mr Right, looking forward to marriage, and was concerned with being safe and secure. Relationships were therefore always important but none had so far worked out in the long term. Heather consistently pursued a nursing career for which she completed her degree and got a job, while also taking various specialist courses in order to discover what she would finally like to do in the future.
