Altering text size in Windows XP

If you are having difficulties seeing web pages on-screen, making the text larger could improve your experience.

  1. Click 'Start' or press the 'Windows' logo key or press 'Ctrl' + 'Esc'.
  2. Click 'Control Panel' or press 'C' and press 'Enter'.
  3. Double click on ‘Appearance and Themes’.
  4. Double click on 'Display’.
  5. Click the 'Settings' tab or press 'Ctrl' + 'Tab' until it is at the front.
  6. Click and drag the slider underneath 'Screen resolution', or press 'Alt' + 'S', and use the arrow keys to adjust the screen resolutions settings.
  7. Click 'OK' or press 'Enter'.

To enlarge text size with your mouse

  1. Hold down the 'Control' key while turning the mousewheel away from you.

To reduce text size with your mouse

  1. Hold down the 'Control' key while turning the mousewheel towards you.
