Altering text size in Windows 95, 98, 2000, Me

If you are having difficulties seeing web pages on-screen, making the text larger could improve your experience.

  1. Click 'Start' or press the 'Windows' logo key or press 'Ctrl' + 'Esc'.
  2. Hover over 'Settings' or press 'S'.
  3. Click 'Control Panel' or press 'C'.
  4. Double click on 'Display' or press 'D' until 'Display' is highlighted, then press 'Enter'.
  5. Click the 'Settings' tab or press 'Ctrl' + 'Tab' until it is at the front.
  6. Click and drag the slider underneath the 'Desktop area', or press 'Alt' + 'D', and use the arrow keys to adjust the screen resolutions settings and press 'Enter'.

To enlarge text size with your mouse

  1. Hold down the 'Control' key while turning the mousewheel away from you.

To reduce text size with your mouse

  1. Hold down the 'Control' key while turning the mousewheel towards you.
